Process Driven FuNctional and Sculptural Vessels
I make functional ceramics guided by the process and material. I am inspired by traditional Japanese Nerikomi ceramics, mathematics, and experimentalism.
Much of my work is made modifying and combining clay bodies into patterned slabs. I finish my work primarily in atmospheric firings, gas, Raku and wood fire. I see the finished product as a collaboration between my original idea and the emergent marks left by material and process.
